A self-inflicted hit of pepper spray drives off an attacking grizzly in Grand Teton National Park

Updated: May 31, 2024

It may be considered low-hanging fruit to market a product using fear, but bears sure can be scary. This story was shared with me, and I thought I'd share with you to illustrate just how fast things can happen when encountering a bear cub. While the victim was able to access his bear spray, he didnt have time to deploy it. Luckily, the bear bit into the can which then inadvertantly sprayed the bear! Lucky to have survived.

If you're curious about the full details of this harrowing encounter, you can find them here: https://www.bozemandailychronicle.com/ap_news/montana/grizzly-that-mauled-hiker-in-grand-teton-national-park-wont-be-pursued/article_18eb480c-be7c-530d-8903-f42a0bf4b825.html. It's a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and make you appreciate the importance of being prepared in bear-populated areas.

When reading, think about how the Bear Tac Quick Clip can be accessed and sprayed while in the fetal position, as well as capable of spraying without ever removing from the clip!
